Hide covered trunk ca. mid to late 1700's. Although fragile, completely intact, including delicately wrought black iron handles on each end. Amazing piece of history. Bears a  brass plate with "Mlle. E. Whittemore- New York". Very rare to find in such wonderful condition. Interior has original soft blue and white decorative paper lining. 17" long, 9 " tall, 10 " wide.
