This doll is so beautiful with such a child-like expression. Made by Simon Halbig ca. 1880 on, she is incised 886 S 5 H and is in the rarer to find 9 inch size. Her huge chocolate colored glass eyes are adorned with generous upper and lower lashes and dark liner beneath soft brown multi-stroked brows. Her bisque is gently colored in peach tones with full peachy lips and has a sought after oily sheen . Her open mouth reveals early square cut teeth, making this a very desirable doll. Add to her numerous blessings, the fact that her body is in wonderful condition and she has the hard to come by yellow shirred stockings with double-strap black painted shoes, and her desirability is high on the scale! Her darling eyelet dress fits her perfectly and the matching bonnet is a sweet compliment. Her long blonde curly mohair wig is not as old as she is, however it suits her beautifully! She has a small cork pate and she is in generally excellent condition with leather liners at the neck socket and inside the arm and leg joints. She has wooden peg joints at the shoulder and hips.
