What a darling! This adorable doll is part of the recently released Huguette Clark Estate. She has the most beautiful face and kept company with Huguette’s Bleuette Bébés. She is incised 1907 3 and has her original wood and composition body. She appears to have a 1 on her feet. The 2 on the back is indecipherable due to paint loss in the area. She has a plethora of costumes! Two pink dresses, a seersucker navy and orange coat dress, a dark pink flowered dress, a darling corduroy jacket, a pink coat and matching bonnet and she’s wearing an adorable silky pink and cream party frock with charming blue embroidery and bows. Antique shoes complete her toilette. As a special extra addition, we are including two extra wigs to accompany her braid wig, and a charming little terrier dog that was made at approximately the same time she was.
Although she was described as generally excellent condition, upon arrival it was discovered that she does have invisible hairlines, most likely due to the manner in which she was made. Originally, doll wigs were nailed on while on the doll. Sadly, this resulted in nicks to the crown rim and hairlines emanated in the high forehead. Nonetheless, this doll displays beautifully and has fabulous provenance.
Having some thing from this particular collection is like owning a special little golden nugget. Having been to the mansion that belonged to Ms. Clark, I can ascertain this doll comes from a fascinating place in history 💕
