This is a very lovely example of a desirable early doll by Claude Joseph Blampoix c. 1857-58.She has the very desirable gently tinted glazed porcelain with inset glass deep blue eyes and wonderful matching glazed porcelain arms with pale pink tint at the elbows and in perfect condition. She resides on her original leather body which is in relatively good and sturdy condition for age. She is dressed in her original cream ground muslin two piece ensemble with scatterings of little purple flowers across the fabric. Her feet are encased in little leather slippers with blue satin embellishments. She has her original generous wig that has been gathered into a loose braid. She has lovely original undergarments consisting of a cotton chemise and pantaloons. We have noted a very fine tiny quarter centimeter hairline emanating from the lid of the left eye. It is only visible with magnification and is most likely in the making. I cannot capture it with my camera. She displays beautifully and this invisible issue has made her quite attainable and considered in the pricing. These dolls are highly desirable and sought after. This is an opportunity to add this charming early Doll to your beautiful collection.
